Different and Enjoyable Way to Experience the River and Koblenz

点评：Most people visiting Koblenz are probably doing so as we did via cruise, so you are docked on the Rhine side of the German Corner with little time outside your planned excursion and without transportation. If so, you have a great option to see both sides of the Rhine as well as good aerial views of the city only steps from your ship at the cable car. A return ticket is advertised at 15 Euros per person, but late in the afternoon it seems like we paid half price. We had limited time after our Marksberg visit to see some of Koblenz.
After seeing St. Castor's Basilica, we boarded the cable car on the east side directly behind the church. In the late afternoon, there was no line. We bought our tickets and the 3 people in our party had a car to ourselves. While the views are 360 degrees, going over the views are more directly the west side and the fortress. Coming back, you get amazing views of the city. I realize for sun angle you may want a morning ride, but it could be full price.
It was a fun and different experience as it was the only time we had the opportunity to experience the river in that way. It greatly expanded our reach as we were able to see the heights on the other side that offered great views of the city. It was different and enjoyable and if you have time, I recommend.
