Serious accident but they couldn't have cared less!
Clip 'n Climb Dundonald的点评
点评：My daughter was hit hard on the foot by a puck which had flown off the ice rink during ice hockey training late on the Sunday afternoon we were there. She was on a climbing wall at the very far end of the Clip N Climb area, and there was no curtain shielding the area from the ice rink, and the clear protective screen was not high enough (only around 6-8 feet high). Thankfully the puck hit the hard sole of her trainer, and not her body.
I reported this to a Clip N Climb staff member who deflected the complaint to the ice rink / council who owns the premises, saying Clip N Climb is only a tenant. He completely failed to recognise that Clip n Climb has a duty of care to all customers. When leaving, I noticed the shutter was down at the Clip N Climb counter so there was no one else to follow up with.
On our way out of the ice bowl, I spoke to two women on the front desk who sympathised, said this was not the first time this had happened and recorded our details in an incident from. They say the Health and Safety Manager would call me the following day when he was next on duty.
Following a couple of days of no response, I called the ice bowl to enquire. Someone from the council (Peter?) called me a day later. He didn't seem at all fazed by the incident and asked what I wanted him to do about it!
I am shocked and appalled by both Clip N Climb and the council's attitude to this near miss. If the puck had have hit my daughter on her head and not the sole of her shoe, given its speed, we could well have been dealing with a fatality.
