Battle of Imphal Tours的点评
点评：My father was a Jungle Warfare Training Instructor in the Indian Army from 1942 to 1945. Although he would never discuss this period of his life, after his death I started researching his war record and experience.
I came across multiple glowing references to Yai as a WW2 guide to Kohima and Imphal and related areas. As my father left some notes indicating his familiarity with these battle sites, I determined to visit the area.
Yai guided me for 7 days. He was exceptionally well informed, interesting and adaptable. We started with Digboi oil museum and cemetery, then Ledo airfield before Kohima and Imphal.
His stories were to the point, timely, and enlivened a tour that involved alot of driving.
Yai has a great sense of humour and was always thinking ahead, amending a timetable if we arrived later than planned at a site.
For instance, an afternoon walk up the mountain at Kohima was replaced by a visit to Khonoma, India's first green village. This was a delightful revelation after being immersed in WW2, the Forgotten War, battle strategy and troop movements.
We were unlucky to arrive in Imphal by air from Guwahati (the road from Kohima being closed due to ethnic minority clashes since 2023), and discover that there had been further tribal violence which effectively shut down the roads
Yai ensured our safe passage to the hotel and airport over the next two days and showed us what he could of the Imphal plain and memorials.
I could not recommend Yai highly enough. He was courteous, informed, interesting and helpful at all times, ensuring a thoroughly immersive experience.

在接下来的两天里，Yai确保了我们能安全抵达酒店与机场，还带我们参观了因帕尔平原上的各处遗迹与纪念碑。我极力推荐Yai。他始终彬彬有礼、知识渊博、谈吐风趣且乐于助人，确保了我们能获得一次极其身临其境的体验。
