点评:For many years I had been intending to visit Kohima where my Father had fought in the initial siege (April 1944). We were met at Jorhat by Yai for the drive to Dimapur and on up to Kohima. Over the next three days with Yai we visited the WW2 Museum, the Naga Museum, the Naga Heritage Park and other sites of interest – relating both to the war and Naga culture. From the viewpoint above Naga village Yai was able to point out the Kohima ridge battlefield features, before taking us on a walk around the battlefield site. At all times Yai exhibited a grasp of the history of the wider conflict both from the Japanese and Allied sides, and also a detailed view of the Kohima siege and subsequent battle and was able to bring the action to life. Yai is very personable and engaging, and livens his historical and military knowledge with a good sense of humour, and was always happy to accommodate any request from us. He made our visit to Kohima a complete success!
