点评:As a regular to Glencoe this was my first time going to the visitor centre.
Spacious car park and cheap admission fee.
It is a lovely building and I really enjoyed seeing the mountain range laid out and all the information there.
We really loved the Turf house - we didn’t wait for the tour just wandered on our own. Great to see how the building of it came about etc. looking forward to taking my children to see this.
we had just eaten at our hotel so didn’t have anything in the cafe but it looked like a very nice place to sit if there for the day.
The gift shop had a great selection of things to take away.
The only thing that let our time down was a member of staff.
As we were stood beside an enthusiastic American lady and her companion she told an English boy working there that she was looking for something that said “Glencoe” instead of just helping her find a souvenir he quite rudely told her she was not pronouncing “Glencoe” correctly the woman was totally perplexed and couldn’t understand the difference in how she had pronounced it and how he was pronouncing it. I’m from the west coast of Scotland and neither could I.
My husband and I were affronted. It came across as very condescending and unnecessary.
When working in a souvenir shop for such a huge visitor attraction it would be better to be welcoming and warm to customers (especially friendly ones) as you are not only representing the shop but the country they are visiting.
