Old Hidalgo Pumphouse Museum and World Birding Center的点评
点评：Strangest museum I've ever seen. The main floor of the museum was presentable, but there was miscellaneous stuff piled against the walls in the entryway (big breezeway) and the interactive (button-push) exhibits in the main museum didn't work. We signed in as visitors at a manned desk and saw a couple of staff members about, but otherwise the place looked abandoned. The lower floor was a disaster area. A model train exhibit was dusty/moldy and paint chips were in various places on the floor, as if the walls or ceiling was falling. Everything SMELLED dirty and musty & we were actually conscious of not brushing against anything or touching anything outside the primary exhibit space. Again, it smelled and looked abandoned. We were shocked. We did walk around the park area and saw no birds (but to be fair, we were not there at a prime viewing time) and we noticed the ground was covered in blowing trash. Very strange place in every aspect. Lots of potential here, and maybe they recently experienced a real disaster like water intrusion of some sort, but nobody on-staff seemed to care and nothing was being done to improve anything. We were less than impressed with the overall experience. I'm glad admission was free; I would've lost my mind had we paid for that awful experience.
