Aquino Tank Weekend with the Fam

点评：My family and I attended Aquino Tank Weekend for Family Day in June. I had never been here before—in fact, I didn’t even know we had a place like this in our area to visit!
Right from the get-go, everything was very well organized. Parking is directed, and there are shuttle carts that take you right from your car to the gates.
As soon as you get inside, there are vehicles EVERYWHERE. Everything from modern tanks, LAVs, M113s, and armoured cars, all the way back to WWII half-tracks and scout vehicles—even old German scout bicycles!
On top of that, there are plenty of interactive, hands-on displays and very knowledgeable volunteers ready to answer any questions you might have.
Did I mention you can get a ride in a tank?! They offer rides in several APCs as well as main battle tanks. They take you around the demonstration grounds, showing off some of their capabilities, and you even get to see a bit behind the scenes.
We watched a 1-on-1 tank battle between a Leopard 1 and an M60A3, which was fantastic! It was a really interesting demonstration of the pros and cons of the different platforms.
We ended our day watching a Gulf War reenactment, which was absolutely awesome! So much noise, smoke, and explosions! It was really well done and puts the crowd right into the action. The DShK machine gun on the T-62 will leave an impression—I promise!
The kids loved it! Despite the rain, we all had a fantastic day and are definitely planning a return visit. If you have any interest in military vehicles or history, Aquino Tank Weekend is absolutely worth checking out!
