Spectacular setting but watch out for the Cressidas bagging picnic spots with blankets hours before needed.
The Grange at Northington的点评
点评:Went there for Grange Festival Opera. Signage on the road is not good and the satnav takes you to about 500 metres from the gate. Had no idea the building is a wreck inside. One wonders why a building on such a spectacular spot can't be brought back into use. Would make spectacular offices and there's plenty of parking. They did a splendid job of keeping the (rather impressive) opera house cool. Cast brilliant, orchestra (BSO) rather special. With the exception of the five brass players who, not playing for the first 20 mins of Onegin, rocked up late and filed into the pit looking sheepish. The only negative is the use of the well-documented Teutonic Benidorm tactic of picnic spots reservation; people bag the best benches by putting their blanket and their cool box on the bench overlooking the lake. Then feck-off for three hours and we plebs are supposed to just suck it up. The park-bench version of the second home. Well, I didn't just suck it up, I sat on their basket of breads and put the cool box in the sun. Toi toi toi.
