点评：This is my first time leaving a review.
I visited the farm today with my two children, along with my friend and her two children. This would have been our third visit, and we had always enjoyed our previous trips.
The day started off really well. The children went on the barrel ride and had a fantastic time. However, as we were making our way down to go pet the animals, we were looking at two kittens when I overheard what appeared to be the an older man I presume the (owner) speaking to one of the young staff members.
What I heard was, in my opinion, absolutely appalling. The young man was being spoken to in a way that I found completely unacceptable, with shouting, swearing and language that was inappropriate, especially with young children nearby. I don’t believe they noticed us, but there were plenty of other families in the area who would also have been able to hear the conversation.
From what I heard, the young staff member was being criticised about his work. I think I heard his name being mentioned as Adam, although I could be wrong. I also heard him say he had been working there for five years. After the conversation ended, the owner walked away and the young staff member carried on with his job and came down to the petting barn.
Despite what had just happened, Adam, if that was indeed his name, was outstanding with my children and all the other children there. He was friendly, patient, kind and made sure everyone had a great experience with the animals. You genuinely wouldn’t have known what had happened only minutes beforehand.
Later, I spoke to him briefly and asked if he was okay. He told me he was fine. I honestly admired how professional he remained. If I had been spoken to like that, especially in front of customers after giving five years of service, I don’t think I could have continued working. Throughout the rest of the day, I continued to see him working hard, greeting visitors with a smile and treating everyone with kindness.
Before heading home, we had food in the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the staff there were lovely, friendly and attentive. Service was a little slower than on our previous visits, but the restaurant was extremely busy, so that was understandable.
The only reason I’m giving one star is because of what I witnessed regarding the treatment of a member of staff and the language used in front of families and young children. Had I not witnessed that incident, I would happily have given this place five stars.
To the young lad, Adam, if that is your name, fair play to you. You handled the situation with professionalism and kindness despite what happened. I genuinely hope you’re appreciated for the work you do.
