Wonderful trip with Green Coast

点评：Fantastic, life-changing trip doing the Central Route 8-day kayaking tour in June 2024. We are from Northern CA but had the chance to join several locals on the trip, which added a cool element of connection to the journey. The lodge where participants convene and end the trip is well built and appointed, and the excellent meals and hot tub at the beginning and end of the trip were sublime.
Bryce was a joy to paddle with, with extensive knowledge of the waters, routes, lands, campsites, wildlife, tides, weather, and humans of this extraordinary place. I was also impressed that Bryce was able to graciously honor our limits and our "nos" (we weren't able to stay an extra night unfortunately, despite their offer)--a real measure of how skilled and people-focused he is. The group had fun rain or shine--which was great because this is, after all, a rain forest. Our route was adjusted to make sure we were in a safee harbor when a storm came through at the end, a measure of how well he knows the place and knows how to keep guests safe and having fun.
Gwaii Haanas is a wild and glorious and occasionally dangerous place to travel, especially by kayak, and he and his crew kept us safe, well fed, and able to focus on enjoying the journey and the landscape. I'll be back, and Haida Gwaii haunts my dreams with its beauty in the meantime.
