点评:We booked a guided walk part of the 250 Belper Mill Celebrations. . We were greeted at he North Mill by Ian our guide. We were given details of our route and set off for Long Row and now privately owned. Ian explained what to look out for and about the houses. We were then privileged to be shown around one of the homes. Imaging quite large families living in such small but modern homes for the time. We left and continued to the top of Long Row and onto Green Lane. There we saw Short Row. Onto the Unitarian Church. Provided by the Strutts for the well being of themselves and the workers. An enjoyable talk by Adrian Farmer explained about the building. From there into The Clusters, rows of larger houses. Onto Joseph Street. Where we shown round a managers house. It was so kind of these people to show us their beautiful homes. Finally we walked a short way passing Piggy Lane and back to the Mill. Brilliant subject, seeing the area in a different light. Hearing stories and information on the way. Thank you to Ian for his knowledge, and especially the people who showed us how the people were provided for by the Strutts
There are different walks arranged all in different aspects of mill life in 1700, 1800s.
Book by contacting the North Mill, visitor centre

我们安排了多条游览路线,涵盖了18世纪和19世纪纺织厂生活的方方面面。
