Avoid Indie Campers – worst rental experience I have ever had

点评：I would strongly advise against renting from Indie Campers. This was the worst rental experience I have ever had.
My rental was from Milan Malpensa, 14–20 September 2026.
The campervan was handed over with a defective external step already protruding outside the vehicle. An Indie Campers employee noticed the problem and even tried to force the step back into place, but it still did not retract properly.
I have photos taken before the incident showing the step protruding with the door closed.
During the trip, the step caught the side of a narrow road and came off. Nobody was injured, but this was a serious safety issue.
Despite the defect already existing at pickup, Indie Campers charged me €488, almost my entire €500 deposit.
The shower was also unusable for the entire 7-night rental because the drain did not work and the shower area flooded quickly. I reported it, followed their troubleshooting instructions, and nothing solved the problem.
I filed a formal complaint on 20 September. Indie Campers said I would receive a response within 7 days.
As of 27 September, I have received no substantive resolution.
For me, the combination of a safety-related defect, an unusable shower, multiple vehicle issues, a €488 charge for a pre-existing problem, and no proper resolution made this completely unacceptable.
I would not rent from Indie Campers again.
I will update this review if they resolve the case fairly.

我再也不会从Indie Campers租用车辆了。
