Today visited Uppalpadu bird sanctuary , situated approximately 12 km from Guntur city. Entry fees was 20 Rs. Car &2 wheeler parking is available.
We spent around 1 hour inside the bird sanctuary. Could see lot of birds esp. migratory birds like spot billed pelican , painted stork , asian openbill , black headed ibis . And also saw & photographed grey headed swamphen , bronze winged jacana , white throated kingfisher , jacobin cuckoo , common moorhen , & black drongo .
It is a nesting site for spot billed pelicans.
Could see them swimming in the pond.
We could see hundreds of spot billed pelicans & their chicks & painted storks.And also saw few black headed ibis & asian openbills. There is a small watchtower from where you can see & photograph the birds easily.
If are staying / visiting Guntur must visit this small bird sanctuary ,
