Wycombe Museum的点评
点评：The Wycombe Museum is housed in Castle Hill House, a fine 16th/17th Century building.
It is a short walk away from High Wycombe station.
Furniture and chair making were the principal industries in High Wycombe, and there is a multitude of examples of these crafts plus some informative videos and displays about chair production.
I enjoyed the recreation of a Victorian kitchen as well as the memorabilia relating to Wycombe Wanderers FC.
The life of local 17th century MP John Hampden is well portrayed. He was a Parliamentarian in the English Civil War and a staunch opponent of Charles I.
There’s a small room dedicated to art. It’s an eclectic collection with work by more modern local artists plus paintings by the likes of Joshua Reynolds and Peter Lely.
Admission is free and the museum is closed on Monday and Saturday.
