More than a ring — a piece of family craftsmanship and a story brought to life

点评：I contacted Gioielleria Eredi Jovon with a very personal and unusual request: to create a custom signet ring inspired by the historic coat of arms of the Vilnius Voivodeship, engraved by hand in intaglio on a natural carnelian.
From the very beginning, Marco treated the project with extraordinary care, patience, and genuine interest. Every detail was discussed thoughtfully, from the proportions of the ring and the character of the stone to the historical orientation of the heraldic design. Throughout the process, communication was warm, clear, and deeply personal.
What impressed me most was the craftsmanship. The engraving was created entirely by hand by their master engraver, without modern shortcuts, and the finished ring has a character that no mass-produced object could ever have. It does not feel like a modern reproduction of something old. It genuinely feels as though it has carried its own history for centuries.
The ring arrived safely and fits perfectly. The natural carnelian glows beautifully in the light, the silver setting is elegant and restrained, and the engraving has exactly the strength and dignity I had hoped for.
Yet the most memorable part of this experience was not only the finished piece, but the relationship created along the way. Marco and the entire Jovon family made me feel that I was not simply purchasing jewelry, but taking part in a living tradition of Venetian craftsmanship passed down through generations.
I have attached photographs of the ring in its new home, beside the river and forests of the Lithuanian countryside. Seeing it there felt like the final chapter of a journey that began in Venice and ended exactly where the ring belongs.
My sincere thanks to Marco, the master engraver, and the whole Jovon team. This was a rare and meaningful experience, and I recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking for something truly personal, handcrafted, and made to last for generations.
I hope that one day I will have the pleasure of visiting their family workshop on the Rialto Bridge and thanking them in person.

不过，这次体验中最令人难忘的并非成品本身，而是整个过程中建立起的情谊。马可以及整个乔冯家族让我深切体会到：我购买的并非仅仅是一件珠宝，而是参与了威尼斯手工艺这一代代相传的悠久传统。我附上了这枚戒指如今所在之处的照片——它正静置于立陶宛乡间的河流与森林旁。看到它置身于这样的环境，我仿佛感受到了一段旅程的圆满终结：这段旅程始于威尼斯，而最终也回到了它理应归属的地方。
