点评:What a wonderful experience and a well run sanctuary.
We had an excellent tour, in english. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the wildlife in general and he knew all the animals/ birds stories & was happy to answer all our questions. We took around 1.5hrs on the tour & were then allowed to walk around on our own. We went on a saturday morning around 9.45. Initially it was quiet but then a few more people arrived but still not crowded. We were also lucky enough to watch some of the animals being fed. All the staff and volunteers were helpful & friendly.
The shop is well stocked with gift ideas/souvenirs and we think the entrance fee offered good value for money.
As this sanctuary is in the city it receives many sick/injured/unwanted animals daily. It costs a lot to take care of them and not all are able to be released back into the wild. We think the Costa Rican Govt should provide some financial support to these essential services, which conserve and protect the wildlife.
Space is tight in some enclosures but given its location in the city & the number and variety of wildlife they have its not surprising. Staff & vols work hard to look after them all.
