I’ve been a weekly regular at this course, but after today’s experience, I am beyond disappointed. We were playing twilight golf and were on the 15th hole when the greenskeeper approached us to demand the buggies back by 6:15 PM. This was a 30-minute jump from the 6:45 PM deadline we have always been given in the past.
When we tried to explain the discrepancy, the interaction turned personal and insulting. He told us we "weren't good enough to play here" and that we should "go back to the driving range" because our pace was supposedly too slow despite the fact that we had plenty of time left based on the rules we’ve always followed.
To make matters worse, he then started guilt-tripping us, saying he "had a family to get back to." While I respect everyone's time, it is not the customer’s responsibility to manage a staff member's schedule, especially when we were following the established course hours. He made us feel incredibly guilty for simply being on the course, told us to finish the hole, and then told us "not to bother coming back.
