One of the worst ski experiences despite great marketing

点评：I stayed in Jasná Chopok on the south side during the New Year period, and unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing ski experiences I’ve had.
Despite the resort advertising a large number of slopes and lifts, many runs were closed or poorly prepared. Some slopes were completely icy even before snowfall, and after three days of heavy snow, the situation did not improve. The open runs were still badly groomed, with many rocks exposed in the middle of the slopes, which is dangerous both for skiers and equipment.
There is route variety on paper, but in reality:
• Blue runs are very narrow and extremely icy,
• they feel more like connecting paths between red runs rather than proper beginner or family slopes,
• they are not suitable for children or less confident skiers,
• lack of safety barriers on narrow sections makes them particularly dangerous.
Another major issue is lift operation. Lifts were frequently shut down during the day, often without clear information. This caused serious problems with crossing to the other side of the mountain or returning to our side, turning a ski day into constant logistical frustration.
In summary, the resort has potential, but with poor slope preparation, safety issues, and unreliable lift operations, I cannot recommend it. I would especially advise against visiting with family and children.
