点评:It is very difficult to make reservations at Rio Blanco Lodge. If you do not have WhatsApp (as most Americans do not) it is nearly impossible. A Colombian friend helped us get the reservations.
We saw numerous birds, lots of hummingbirds. Our guide (Sergio) did a good job although we were not given a choice to have or not have a guide and it costs $52 in COP cash.
We were assigned a room in the "new" building. The ceilings are 18+feet and on the typically cold nights it was very cold (no heat was provided). The bed was comfortable. The room was relatively clean.
However, there were a number of problems. First, the road is rough in areas and you must cross the river twice with no bridge and we were not told this before nor after we made reservations. Second: The key to our room was extremely difficult to turn and locking/unlocking the door was stressful. The windows and doors were not well sealed so insects and cold air came in at night.
Third: The bill we were sent had the room and food charged through Wompi as well as the notification we would be required to pay a guide. We were not notified of any other possible charges. When we arrived the hostess asked if we wanted supper and we said yes. The room where guests eat is in the same building as some of the guest rooms. It has no signs that the dining room is a separate business (a restaurant) nor were we informed of this. We were given no menus or choices of food, just whatever food the hostess decided to prepare. The fare was simple: soup, then meat with rice and a fruit drink. After telling the hostess I had dietary restrictions, she gave me foods that were closer to my restricted diet (though not completely). We were not offered coffee until our guide asked for some for us. The day we left the hostess asked for a ride to Manizales and as we handed her the key she handed us a bill ($99+) for lunches and suppers. She wanted cash. Since the bill we received online had NO mention of other charges beyond the room/food and guide, we expected that meals were included. We told her we did not have cash to pay her and that we expected (given the previous electronic bill and the quality of the food) that all meals were included. We told her we only could pay for expenses with credit card. She said it was he private restaurant and we needed to pay. She also told us she needed cash since the reserve would charge her 8% if we paid them and they paid her. Eventually she had the person who makes reservations send us a bill in order to get paid.
We DO NOT recommend Rio Blanco Lodge due to this deception and the lack of communication about costs up front. While there we discovered that there are other lodges in the reserve area. We suggest you check those out if you want to go to the reserve area.
如果你没有WhatsApp(大多数美国人都没有),那就几乎不可能订到房。
