Planned a great hiking trip for us off season

点评：We stayed in Vlore, then Himare, & were taken out daily for our hikes since walking town to town did not work logistically for this area of the Albanian coast & time of year. Outdoor Albania worked with us planning hikes, booking available lodging, & recommending restaurants & pubs in their "off-season." Other companies would not even help us plan a trip in March. The weather was great - cool mornings, getting pretty warm through the day & best time to visit & hike there if you ask me. I think it would be too hot later in the year for hiking near the coast. Some restaurants & businesses were closed but there were plenty of open ones that were uncrowded this time of year & they had awesome food & service. The country and hikes set up for us were beautiful & the people friendly. Many locals spoke English. Volare was warm and beautiful & we had a beachfront hotel (too cool to swim though). The town is very modern with lots of shops & restaurants, including in the Old Town area. The BrB in Himare was perfect, in a great location near the waterfront, with a partial view to the ocean & a washing machine too!. The owner was very nice & kept bringing us homemade treats & coffee. There was 96 steps to the lodging - great exercise for the view - we were there to hike afterrall & they took the luggage up for us.
Miran, our driver was great - very helpful, informative about the country & people, & he gave us tours of some nearby fortresses. The shepherd dogs barked at us at times on our hikes since but no other issues - one might consider protective spray though just in case. We had a fantastic trip - thank you to Outdoor Albania for being flexible and setting up.a great trip!
