点评：I started planning our spring break trip to Peru during my own research. There came a point when I felt uncertain about transportation in the Sacred Valley, so I decided to engage a support agency to help make the trip I was imagining a reality. Travel Local put us in contact with Annelies at Vamos Expeditions, who took care of everything so we could just be present and enjoy it.
From the weeks in advance, when an itinerary with accommodations was created with the opportunity to adjust it, to the local guidebook, restaurants, guides, and online chats, we felt very well taken care of.
When we landed in Cusco, we were met by our guide, Marisela, who arranged for a driver to take us to our hotel. Along the way, she told us about Cusco. She made recommendations for our free time, which were perfect
When we had site tours planned, Marisela picked us up with a driver from our lovely accommodations after we had breakfast. The hotels in Cusco and Urumamba offered the most wonderful breakfasts.
Marisela took us to see the massive fortress of Sacsayhuamán just above Cusco. We then hiked the Pisac archaeological site, followed by a visit to the village below. The following days included visiting the circular agricultural terraces at Moray, the Maras salt flats, and the incredible stonework of Ollantaytambo. Our guide traveled with us by PeruRail to Aguas Calientes, where we stayed the night for the very early morning bus to Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu. Marisela was incredibly knowledgeable and tailored our trip to our preferred balance of physical activity and education. She was certainly capable of guiding the very athletic adventurer as well as those more interested in learning about history, culture, and the arts at a slower pace.
