点评:I received a voucher for my birthday for a Jessica Gel manicure. I had not previously had a gel manicure and I went on 19/12/25 as I had a party on the 20/12/25. I asked the manicurist how long the nails would last and she told me 3 to 4 weeks. I explained that I had weak nails but she said they should still last 3 to 4 weeks. The nails literally lasted a few days before chipping and one nail the gel came off altogether. A couple of my friends came on 24/12/25 and I pointed the nails out and they said they definitely should have lasted longer. At the time I was not going to make an issue of it but was encouraged to do so as the general consensus was that they should have last longer than 6 days. I called Lion Quays on 29/12/25 and spoke with Hollie. She suggested I emailed with photos. I received a reply on 31/12/25 to the effect that "Gel polish is not guaranteed to remain flawless beyond the first 7 days". No repairs or reapplication was offered but I was advised that I could book a nail appointment or go in to discuss after care. My response was "I will not be requiring further nail appointments, either to remove or replace the gel. But I will be leaving a review." I then received a very long email reiterating that gel nails can last up to a week possibly two, depending on the environment amongst other things. I was then told "In light of the position you’ve taken and your stated intention to leave a review, we feel it would be best that we do not accept any future bookings from you. This decision is made to protect our staff and business and to ensure we maintain a positive and fair environment for both guests and employees."
