Kiamie a must visit for small, relaxed, unpretentious tasting of fantastic Paso blends

点评：I cannot recommend this winery highly enough. Arrived at 11:00 on a Saturday in May. When we arrived, proprietors Greg and Aram were the only ones there and they immediately poured a couple fantastic wines. The winery and tasting area, located on a beautiful, rolling and remote pastoral property, is humble and unpretentious to say the least - in the best way possible. Just wreaked of decades-old Paso Robles country authenticity. The winery dog greeting you, a small, charming tasting shack, goats headbutting in the adjacent goat pen.. Quiet, warm, effortlessly historic, just real.
But lets get on to the star of the visit - the wines. Greg and Aram's wines are absolutely *superb*. Specializing in Rhone style blends, the craftsmanship, tradition, history and decades of experience with their sought-after estate fruit was readily apparent.
We had hired a driver that day (Rick of "Private Wine Driver" Paso Robles) who was fantastic. I think because Rick had connections with Kiamie (and the other three wineries he took us to) and the fact that we were the only ones there at that early hour, we were lucky enough to have Aram take us back over to the barrel room for a barrel tasting where he took us through the blending science. I expect they rarely have time to do that for many people, but arrive early enough and show up with Rick and I'd expect you might get lucky as we did.
Took home two bottles of the 2023 R'OWN BLEND which is sublime. Of the six wineries we visited that weekend, this was our favorite. Not a place for large groups, but for casual, unhurried, friendly tastings of fantastic wines.
