Worth the effort for an unforgettable orangutan experience

点评：We did the 2-night/3-day river cruise with Wow Borneo in October 2025 aboard the Kumai, and it was absolutely worth the effort to get there.
I want to set expectations appropriately: getting to the boat can be a bit challenging because the flights and logistics are not always simple. That said, once we arrived, every bit of travel hassle faded away.
The crew on the boat, including several family members, were nothing short of spectacular. They were warm, attentive, gracious, and took amazing care of us throughout the trip. We are accustomed to staying at very high-end hotels and resorts, so we do not say this lightly. This is not luxury accommodation in the traditional sense, but it is clearly one of the most comfortable and well-done options available for this type of adventure, and the service was outstanding.
The slow cruise down the river was one of the highlights. Spending 2 nights and 3 days gently moving through the jungle was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. There was plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, unwind on the boat, and take in the whole experience without ever feeling rushed.
Most importantly, the wildlife viewing was excellent. We had many opportunities to see orangutans, along with other monkeys and wildlife, in a beautiful natural setting. It was a truly memorable experience and one of the highlights of our travels.
If you are considering Wow Borneo, I would highly recommend it. It may take a little extra effort to get there, but it is more than worth it.
