点评:The Wayang Museum or the puppetry museum is located in the old city quarters of Jakarta and can be reached by using the Transjakarta (busway) and alighting at either Jakarta Kota stop or the Kali Besar stop.
The museum previously was a church and is repurposed to be a museum exhibiting puppets (wayang) from various parts in Indonesia. You can also observe the evolution of these puppets from their humble beginnings and the modern interpretation.
There is a section which is dedicated to the origins of the museum, which is a church and cemetery, where you can read and see the various tombstones from people buried, and also this is where Jan Pieterszoon Coen, the founder of Batavia (Jakarta), was buried. The tomb since then has been moved to another location.
Interestingly enough there is a section on the second floor of the museum which also shows the various puppets from around the globe.
All in all it was an interesting visit (affordable also).
