点评：The beach and the surrounding hotels are quite nice.
The bigger problem is that visibility in the water is very poor … 40 cm … lots of particles. That’s actually true of most beaches on the east side of Koh Phangan.
When visibility is poor, you can’t see a thing while swimming in the ocean. Most importantly, you can’t see any jellyfish.
And damn right, this isn’t just some pesky jellyfish—no, it’s a real killer. Box jellyfish, sea wasps, etc.
This thing stung me and … sent me straight to the hospital … to the ICU … many people die … the venom can easily kill you if you’re exposed to enough of it … I was lucky.
This is to remind you that while the beach may look inviting for swimming, it’s often not suitable for snorkeling and can be extremely dangerous.
The hotel reacted quickly and helped me get to the hospital; they did everything they could. I’m very grateful for everything they did.
