不忍池的点评
点评：You can enjoy scenery that changes beautifully with the seasons.
Many visitors combine this area with a walk to Yushima Tenjin Shrine, the Former Iwasaki Residence Gardens, the University of Tokyo, or Ueno Park.
Shinobazu Pond has very different atmospheres depending on where you are.
Around the Okura Theater area, which is the shortest route from Ueno Station or Okachimachi Station, there is often loud street drinking, and the area can feel chaotic and sometimes unpleasant in smell. It’s not our favorite approach.
Our preferred route is via Exit 1 of Yushima Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line, then walking from the Ikenohata 1-chome intersection toward Shinobazu Pond.
(Incidentally, there is an exceptionally good sprouted 100% buckwheat soba restaurant near this intersection — highly recommended as well.)
If you walk counterclockwise, you’ll pass the Water Music Hall, the Lotus Viewing Deck, and the Shitamachi Museum.
If you take a large clockwise loop, it becomes a relaxed, unhurried stroll.
When food stalls or kitchen trucks are present,
the Lotus Viewing Deck area and the area around Benten-do Temple tend to get very crowded.
Each season has its own charm:
cherry blossom season, Christmas, lotus season, and more.
This visit was in December, and the stark, quiet winter atmosphere was unexpectedly wonderful.
Food from kitchen trucks tends to be expensive,
and restaurants around Okachimachi PARCO-YA and Ueno Station are often small and overcrowded.
After eating our way through the best spots around Yushima Tenjin and Ikenohata,
we found a true standout:
Haru-chika GABA SOBA LAB, an outstanding restaurant serving sprouted 100% buckwheat soba and creative Japanese cuisine.
It was a mega hit for us.
Seasonal creative Japanese dishes, exceptional GABA soba, and a walk around Shinobazu Pond —
we will absolutely return.

御徒町PARCO-YA和上野站附近的餐厅通常比较小，而且人满为患。
