Five consecutive years attending, including the Cosford Club in 2025, where I looked across at the Jerry Fray Enclosure and thought it looked quiet and well spaced. That memory cost me £89 this year. Expensive memory.
What was I promised? An exclusive, limited capacity, premium photography experience. Elevated platforms. Prime crowd line views. Strictly limited spaces. Their words, not mine.
What did I get? A main area packed full of tables and people, a completely empty tent the size of four large vans that could have relieved the crush outside, every platform taken, and a crowd line so thick with lenses you could not see through it. I spent an hour on the grass by the bins before giving up and watching from the general public area next door, which was ironically less crowded. The general public had chairs. I had a bin. My wristband went in said bin.
In November 2025 they announced the Cosford Club would be extended for 2026. Space on a crowd line does not expand because you want it to. The Jerry Fray was squeezed. Their own 2023 promotional material stated the enclosure was for the exclusive use of 150 guests plus accredited press. How many tickets were sold for 2026? They have not said. I think we can draw our own conclusions.
I have raised a formal complaint and requested a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Five visits from 2022. Two hundred mile round trip each time. Hotel, fuel, time off work. The £89 ticket was the icing on a very stale cake. The Jerry Fray Enclosure made all of that clear in under an hour.
Photographers considering this enclosure for 2027, save your £89 and bring a chair. Or just sit on the floor by a bin. Cheaper still.
I stayed loyal to Cosford, avoiding RIAT to support the RAF's own. The airshow itself was an incredible spectacle. The Jerry Fray Enclosure however ensured I won't be back.
