The most wonderful afternoon learning about and flying birds!
SMJ Falconry的点评
点评：Our partners gifted me and my twin sister a half-day birds of prey experience for our birthday, and we had the most wonderful afternoon at SMJ Falconry!
Upon arrival, Chris made us a cup of tea and was so friendly and insightful. He then showed us around the aviaries and introduced us to each bird, which was wonderful as we got to learn about their species and see their personalities - Millie the raven is so clever and intuitive, and Julianne the vulture charmed us so much!
We then interacted with and flew four birds out on the field - Dottie the American kestrel, J.D the barn owl, Henry the Harris hawk, and Eric the peregrine falcon.
Each bird is so unique, and we had so much fun interacting with them - it's safe to say Dottie was one of our favourites, with her sitting on our heads and constantly chirping for more food!
We also saw Eric fly at speeds of around 80mph - Chris told us he's previously reached max speeds of 130mph, with his species being the fastest bird in the world.
It's clear that the needs and well-being of the birds are at the forefront of everything the team at SMJ do, and I couldn't recommend this experience enough for fellow animal lovers!
