点评:The Egypt Papyrus Museum was pretty cool. The collection of papyrus art is interesting, and it’s nice to see the traditional techniques and designs up close. I enjoyed walking through and learning a bit about the history.
However, the shopping experience at the end left a sour taste. Everything is clearly advertised with prices in “Egyptian dollars” (which I assume means Egyptian pounds), but when it came time to pay, they suddenly only wanted foreign currency (euros, dollars, etc.).
The staff became quite pushy and even slightly aggressive when we tried to pay in local currency, insisting we use our own money instead. It felt very uncomfortable and made us leave without buying anything.
Overall, it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and interested in papyrus, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying anything here. Just enjoy the exhibits and move on.
Also when we left the museum and was getting back in on mini van we was bombarded by local merchants selling black wooden Anubis heads, shouting and screaming " 10 euro, 1 Dollar, 5 pounds " one tried to grab my girlfriend and get her off the bus but our tour guild intervened and push them back before we drove off. Please dont let this review put you off though. You just gotta keep calm and put your foot down.
