Feeling insulted, Durvasa cursed her to live separately from Krishna, leading to the temple's distance from the main Dwarkadhish Temple.
3. He also cursed the land of Dwarka to have salty water. That is why 'Jal Daan' (donating water) is a major tradition at the Rukmini Temple today and it is also offered as Prasad there.
