点评:This was one of our favourite experiences in New Zealand. I’m a birder, so I knew I’d love it, and I did end up adding several new birds to my “seen” list! My wife is not as much into birding, but she had a great time too, and ended up spotting a tuatara. We walked around on our own in the morning, had lunch near the very informative visitors center. Then we went on an afternoon tour ($10 per person) with the most lovely volunteer guide, Neal, who answered all our questions, fed us candy, and helped us find an owl (ruru) and giant crickets (weta), which we would never have seen on our own. It’s clear that every person involved in protecting this island pours so much of their care into their work - it’s inspiring!
If you go on a hot day, bring your bathing suit - most of the guides and travelers ended the day with a swim in the crystal-clear water before boarding the ferry home!

如果你在炎热的天气去,记得带上泳衣——大多数导游和游客在乘渡轮回家前都会在清澈见底的海水中畅游一番!
