Tour content changed and cancellation handling was unclear

点评：I booked this tour directly with the operator and would like to share my experience factually so future travelers can make an informed decision.
I paid in advance for a multi-day tour that specifically included a Lalibela visit (USD 350 as part of the total package).
After payment, I was informed that the Lalibela portion would be changed to a different destination (Tigray churches). This change was communicated without my prior agreement.
While trying to resolve this change, the flights I had planned to purchase for Lalibela became unavailable due to scheduling constraints. As a result, I requested to cancel only the Lalibela portion five days in advance.
However:
• The partial cancellation was declined.
• No written cancellation policy was provided.
• No confirmed meeting time or hotel details for Lalibela were shared in writing.
• Communication relied mainly on phone calls rather than clear written instructions.
During this exchange, a passport photo was also sent to me via WhatsApp without explanation, which I found concerning from a data privacy and professional standpoint.
I am not commenting on intent, only on what occurred.
I recommend future travelers ensure that itinerary changes, cancellations, and logistics are clearly confirmed in writing before payment.
