Walking through the Great Court alone, looking up at that iconic glass ceiling with no one else around, set the tone immediately. The grandeur of this place hits differently when it's quiet.
What makes our tour guy George exceptional isn't just his knowledge — it's how he brings history to life. He moves through the galleries like a storyteller, weaving questions that make you think before he reveals the answer. Standing before the Sutton Hoo helmet, the Lewis Chessmen, the Holy Thorn Reliquary, the Roman Hinton St Mary mosaic — each stop felt like a conversation, not a lecture.
