点评:My views are similar to all the other recent reviews of this place: Whilst the theatre itself is a nice venue, you're mainly selling a service offering. The stage performances might be good, but if the service staff in the seating areas are poor, then this can make or break the evening. The staff certainly require a lesson in customer service.
There is a leaflet on the seat as you sit down which portrays the idea of pre-ordering your ice creams by scanning the QR code. Upon the theatre announcing the audience to take their seats, we used the QR code to order and pay for ice creams via our phone. About 5 minutes later, and just before the curtains were due to go up, a bag arrived via a member of staff and was held in front of us. To our bemusement, the staff member explained that they were our pre-ordered ice creams. We explained that these should have been for the half time interval and kindly requested that they came back during the interval... Que an immediate barrage of legal drivel were we were referred to the print on the reverse of the QR code leaflet which was not visible because it had been stuck to the seat with the QR code facing forward. In essence the staff member was saying that orders are delivered as soon as they are made, and it wasn't meant to be an interval service. We explained that this wasn't clear and again asked nicely for her to take the bag back to the freezer when we would collect it at the interval. She then explained that they are sticking to the decision because 'a few hundred customers ended up doing the same thing at a recent Shrek performance', to which we explained therefore that the service offering isn't clear if people all have the same understanding. After 5 minutes of debate, and the appearance of some form of Manager, the ice creams were taken back and re-delivered at the interval. Considering there were only 20 people seated in the circle section of the recent Cluedo performance, i really think the stance of the staff was laughable, and so it seems did the other few customers sat around us. Ice creams at the interval is a standard at theatres isn't it?
For 20 years, my company sponsored seats at this theatre, until it's refurbishment a few years ago. I remember the times when going to the theatre used to be a nice place to go, whereby the staff were courteous and helpful, and where people didn't put their bare feet over the seats in front when the audience was empty.
