点评:My first time at this gym was mixed. I came in with two other adults and one youth, and the staff member checking us in seemed overwhelmed with the mere presence of us and treated us coldly and bureaucratically. She rudely asked a coworker to help her because it was “too much work.” The man she asked to help was very nice though—very warm and friendly. She then gave us a top rope/lead test which lasted 30 seconds and did not even attempt to measure proficiency or safety. We then had to pay an additional fee to be taken on a 20 minute tour of the facility where they went through all the rules. The explanation was lengthy but I think if it had been my first time ever at a climbing gym, I would still not know how to fall safely. It felt like they were trying to be really strict about safety but only in word—they have all these house rules and threaten to throw people out for not complying but they don’t really confirm that you know how belay or fall safely. After we were set free, I found the bouldering to be very fun—the routes were creative and varied and I really enjoyed playing around on the new wide boyz cracks. The grading seems a bit soft and the holds could certainly use a good washing, but we had a good time.
