Fabulous Winter Walk to Seymour Tower

点评：I had the most amazing and interesting experience walking to Seymour Tower on a lovely January Sunday guided by Derek & Trudy.
The tour delivered everything I could have hoped for, and more - much, much more !
The tour started at Rocque Harbour at 11am, arriving a little earlier to put on my hired wellies!. They were only £1 to rent, were very comfy and were absolutely essential for the walk.
Seymour Tower looks pretty far out from the coastline as the crow flies, but the tour actually meanders around the gulleys, rocky outcrops and sandy banks. What I hadn't fully anticipated was that the two affable guides, Derek and Trudy, would be pausing at interesting rock pools to explain the floor and fauna, and at rock formations to explain the geology and the ancient history of the bank.
There is a lot to discover on the walk, and whilst I had primarily signed up in order to walk safely to Seymour Tower and back, I came back thoroughly enthused about seaweed, anemones, molluscs and rocks !! As for Seymour Tower, well it's an absolutely incredible feat of 18th century construction and for anyone interested in the Napoleonic defences of Jersey, as I am, a must visit location.
I've signed up with Derek & Trudy to walk to Icho Tower in a couple of weeks time when the tide conditions are suitable. Whilst closer to the shore, it is a much trickier walk out, and you need a guide or guides that truly understands the topology of the area and the tides before you attempt it...
Thanks a million Derek & trudy - it was great craic (and great vraic, especially the Pepper Dulse).

我已经报名参加了德里克和特鲁迪组织的徒步活动，准备在几周后潮汐条件合适的时候去伊乔塔（Icho Tower）。虽然伊乔塔离海岸更近，但徒步难度更大，你需要一位或几位真正了解当地地形和潮汐情况的向导才能尝试。
非常感谢德里克和特鲁迪——这次徒步之旅非常愉快（而且食物也很棒，尤其是胡椒海藻）。
