A long term wish/desire came true when Baba called us go allow us for his darshan at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, Ujjain. It was a mesmerizing and devine experience to be there. Things at the temple were quite organized. We were into a group of family and freinds with half of the members as senior citizens. We booked early darshan in advance and Sandhya Arti on the same day. We were not fortunate enough to have Bhasma Aarti but experience of Sandhya Arti was devine. The best part, you are allowed to be there during the entire aarti and get the blessings of Mahakal. Early darshan booking was worth as we were able to get the darshan very quickly (within 20 minutes). The checking process was also very smooth. There was a large number of devotees for darshan and it is avisable to book early darshan well in advance online through the officila website. You can get the ticket over the counter also for early darshan but it is better to book it online well in advance to get the preferred slot for darshan (booking opens 30 days in advance from the date of darshan). Sandhya Arti and Shayan arti also needs to be booked online, booking of the same opens at 12:00 noon and 04:00 pm respectively on the same day. You can have darshan anytime as per the temple timing but it becomes a must visit during night hours when the temple lights are on.
