点评：We parked at Shiei katana parking lot for 800 yen and walked about 150 m to the ticket station . Fee for one way ticket 1500 yen , return 2800 yen . These bus tickets cannot be prebooked and have to be booked on the same day . The bus was totally packed at 850 pm . Buses run half hourly . Do suggest go earlier to buy tickets especially in peak season .
The journey took 25-30 min.
We stopped at Taisho pond station , then walked 500 m to reach view of Mount Yakedake
, then another 1km to see Taisho- Ike pond then another 2 km to reach kappa bridge . The walk took 90-120 minutes pending on how often you stop to take photos . Not suitable for wheelchairs . Walk is classified as easy with broad walk and flat ground with small pebbles and stones . Stunning scenery at almost every turn and corner .
For those who cannot walk much , you may want to consider stopping at Taisho pond station, explore the pond , get back on the bus with the same ticket and then go to Kappa main station and explore then return from Kappa station . It is a bad idea to catch the return bus from Taisho station as the bus was full on the way back .
Do bring some water and food as limited restaurants and cafe there . Weather was also colder at 8 degrees .
