点评:If you want to see a real floating market, then Lok Baintan is worth traveling to Banjarmasin for. It's much more authentic than Damnoen Saduak and the other floating markets in Thailand. You won't get pictures of a hundred boats packed tightly together unless you visit during the floating market festival. But you will see around 60 or so local vendors, mostly women, in colorful boats bartering with one another and happily swarming the tourist boats as they come in.
Swiss-belhotel offers its hotel guests a free boat tour that leaves at 5:30 a.m., but you only spend about half an hour at the market on that tour, and you don't have the opportunity to leave the boat. There are a few other places along the river that also offer boat rides to the market and the price is cheap.
My recommendation is to take the boat ride one morning, and then go back a second time to the Jembatan Gantung Lok Baintan, the bridge that overlooks the market. The vendors will begin to congregate slightly upriver from the bridge and then float downstream (this is why there are multiple locations on Google maps that all say Lok Baintan market). Based on my experience in late March, if you're at the bridge by around 6:40 a.m., you'll catch them just as they're floating past you and you'll be able to get some great pictures. By 6:55 a.m., the boats will be too far away for a good shot. If you want a different angle, there are a few piers along the river where you can take pictures as the boats float by.
To get to the bridge, use Grab to call a motorbike driver. The road there is narrow and a taxi can only go so far, so you'll have to walk the last 15-20 minutes to the bridge. You'll be covered in sweat by the time you reach it due to the humidity and heat.
