点评:We were in Uxbridge for a couple of nights and looked for things to do. 15 minute walk from the town centre, what a gem. We did the tour and the guide was so knowledgeable, with stories of fighter pilot bravery and how that Ops room (in the bunker) and the methods used directly helped us to win the Battle of Britain.
Above ground there’s a new museum with a Spitfire and Hurricane suspended from the ceiling (as well as replicas outside) along with some great information and lots of other exhibits.
Definitively worth a visit to learn more about the heroes that saved our country, and to see the place Churchill sat and observed as our brave servicemen turned the war around in our favour.
There so much rubbish in the news these days, and this bunker makes you very proud about the ingenuity, and bravery of our not so distant forefathers (and mothers), and proud to be British again.
Thanks to all staff there, particularly the tour guide (apologies I can’t remember his name)
