Harborough Museum的点评
点评：The Harborough museum is housed in the centre of Market Harborough in the Symington Building which is also home to the town’s library.
It is half a mile on foot from the railway station.
Whilst the museum is quite small, the main attraction is the Hallaton Treasure unearthed in 2000.
This comprised of around 5000 Roman coins plus a Roman army helmet found in Hallaton which is around nine miles north east of Market Harborough.
Local firm Symingtons is well portrayed in the museum. Well known for corset making including the Liberty Bodice, it also later produced soup and was a big industry in the town.
I enjoyed the numerous artefacts from the old days of the town, including toys plus footwear created by local shoe and boot maker Falkner.
Admission is free and the museum is closed on Sunday and Monday.
