Spider's Web: If only a black widow bit me during the performance and put out of my misery!
M&D at Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse的点评
点评：This was not my first experience at the M and D it is an old barn type theater and as far as I can tell there is only one small bathroom in the "lobby-ish". I have visited at least 15 small community theaters this past year and we decide to try M and D again because it was pretty much the only game in town at this time of year and we wanted to stay in NC even though we are not skiers.
The bar/ snack stand is in the back of the theatre so you can sit at the bar and watch the play. They serve mixed drinks as well as snacks like cookies etc. I do not understand why however, the drinks are served in real glass! So many downsides to this. People were purchasing drinks filled to the rim and then trying to get to their seats in the middle of the row. One of the patrons spilled some as he returned to his seat. Yes this can happen with plastic but at least it would not potentially break into a thousand pieces! This occured to me as the drink was spilling.
On to the play. We saw Spider's Web. Most of the actors were great but the main character Clarissa was horrendous. While they all tried to affect an English of some sort the accent she chose to speaking such a high pitch and so quickly that it ruined most of her lines, too much affectation. This was the case with person play the young girl's roll too. It was so bad I begged my husband to leave but he is one of those people who will never walk out in the middle of anything!! It would have been better if the "Clarissa" realized she is not Glynnis Johns and did not try to emulate her high pitched rapid speech pattern.
Parking is also a problem you can park on the street or in the bank across the street. Parking adjacent to the theater is not allowed. In summer fine, but this was in the middle of a small snow storm.
