点评：We visited for afternoon tea in the long gallery and The Snow Queen, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was the first visit for all of us, and I personally have wanted to see the house for years. The afternoon tea was an absolute treat, the setting and atmosphere were beautiful and the quality of the tea was great. Delicious local produce and a great selection of tea and coffee.
Every staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly, and helpful, especially the gentleman with the wonderful moustache at the front desk who went out of his way to direct us and make us feel welcome.
The Snow Queen display was atmospheric and enjoyable, part of the appeal was seeing the house's rooms for the first time, and it encouraged me to return for a historical tour. The storytelling of the display is perhaps better suited to families but was still enjoyable as an adult.
Hearing about the work of the trust from the staff members in the rooms was illuminating, and it's so refreshing to hear of a stately home that works for and contributes to its local community, rather than just a select few.
