点评：Last week we completed an 11-day trip to Italy, Visiting and meeting for the 1st time my husband’s amazing extended family in Reggio Calabria, then attending an amazing family wedding in the Puglia region in the town of Crispiano, then completing the end of our trip with the most incredible heritage tour of my grandparents’ hometowns in the Calabria and Basilicata regions. We knew that when we were going to plan this trip, we were going to need some professional assistance. My internet search led me to My Bella Vita Travel, as they specialize in heritage tours in the Calabria region. From our initial inquiry via google chat with Cherrye Moore, the founder of the company, we knew we were in the right hands for planning and coordinating this trip. After committing and paying the initial deposit we were assigned a travel specialist named Gianuca Muzzillo. We met with him initially via Google chat and felt immediately comfortable working with him. Over the course of a few months, we exchanged many texts putting together our itinerary. Aside from us having to arrange our own air travel, My Bella Vita handled all the rest from hotel accommodations which included daily breakfast, transportation which included private transportation and train travel, delicious lunches with culinary connections to our heritage along with amazing tour suggestions to learn about the regions we were visiting. Gianluca was very thorough and quick to reply to any questions or concerns we had. He was fantastic to work with!! Once our itinerary was completed, we were assigned a heritage specialist, Domenico Boi, who would also be our tour guide for the complete journey of our trip. He was fantastic and we cannot say enough good things about him!!! He personalized our trip along the way as needed and that made it very special to us. He listened to things we said that were important to us to see or do and personalized the trip to include them no matter what it took. If he had to change around a few things we had scheduled, he handled it and made it happen!! In meeting with our family in Reggio, he provided much need interpretation, as many did not speak English. He immediately became like a family member to us and to our extended family. He actually knew one of the family members himself from a young age, such a small world!! The places we visited, the places we ate, and the meals selected were all personalized to us! When it was time to travel clear to the other side of Italy for our family wedding, we were provided very comfortable transportation and the driver, Salvatore of Priete touring who was excellent and so very kind! After the wedding events we were now onto the heritage part of our trip! This is where Domenico really worked so hard to fulfill such a memorable experience for me (and my husband)!! Arriving in the villages of my grandparents, seeing the homes they lived in and the churches they were part of and the cemeteries of my ancestors were nothing short of amazing! He made it a point to get us into the local commune to see and obtain copies of the birth records, but most importantly finding the marriage records of my grandparents was the icing on the cake! I knew he had worked hard ahead of us meeting with him so he could be familiar with these areas and provide us the most memorable experience! I could go on and on. I would highly recommend My Bella Vita for your next journey! To Cherrey, you have put together an amazing team and wish you much continued success in the company you have created to make peoples travel dreams come true!! Oh and just another note… Domenico deserves a raise 😉
