Forgotten World Adventures的点评
点评：What a magnificent day out in King Country! Yes, it’s an early start but this will be a day you will enjoy. Our trip was slightly odd in that we did the bus transfer first, a 2 hour trip on a minibus through King Country with a very informative commentary along the way. It’s a bit bumpy and twisty but that goes with the terrority. The countryside is stunning and varies continuously.
We had a brief coffee stop at Whangamomona before boarding the golf buggies. Brilliant organisation meant that parties were allocated quickly, a safety talk and we were off.
Like any railway, you are taken deep into the countryside that mere road builders can’t compete with. The civil engineering required to complete the project back in the 1930’s was immense. The tea stops and information stops were excellent with our guide,Dan, providing all the background to the geology, culture and ner’do wells that occupy the territory.
The home baking throughout the day was gorgeous and the lunch stop was very good.
We were blessed with a dry sunny day. Make sure you have the factor 50 on and consider long trousers, you are at the mercy of the sun and can’t really move to shade.
$480NZD per person get you a whole day out, fully catered, with a very efficient friendly crew, truly an unforgettable day in the Forgotten World.
