点评：We had not visited this chateau before but having (re)visited the famous Chateau d’Azay le Rideau in the morning we decided to try L’Islette. What a nice surprise! The chateau is slowly being restored by the current owners who live there for half the year. It offers a mix of tastefully restored period rooms mixed with modernised rooms which are geared up to family life. We loved being able to get a ‘feel’ of the place - not just a sterile chateau like Azay but a home being lovingly restored as funds allow. The grounds are full of chairs/places to sit (everywhere!) and the shop offers a picnic lunch ( if you have not bought your own) so that you can sit and enjoy the ambience of the lovely grounds). We throughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend visiting the Chateau as it offers more that the just a tourist ‘must do sight’. We wish the owners well in their ongoing project …..a labour of love!
