点评：I am in Mellieha village now. Noisy massive roadworks blocking access to the beach, right underneath the church in the village center, with deafening noise. It takes well over an hour to reach the beach half a km away via the highway! Lots of dusty noisy construction everywhere in the village. Bang bang bang bang bang! Even on the peninsular opposite the beach a huge new resort is being built. Cranes everywhere you look. Miserable faces. Disgusting overdevelopment. (Governments fault.) My Airbnb (HOMELY) did nothing to help me. The hotels and international travel agencies are helping to transfer people out. It’s still not as bad as St Julian’s, St Paul’s or Sliema. But I would say the area is almost destroyed this year, at its limit . The vibe is really off. It seems the plan is turn this beautiful magical little island into Dubai and it’s heart breaking.
