点评:I really liked Ek balam and would probably recommend it over Chichen itza.
The staff was friendly and just let us do our own thing as i got a guide from online.
It’s nice that you can climb the structures and they have a mix of older stones and revitalized areas. They also have information on jungle plants and birds.
It’s really laid back! I would recommend going earlier as it can get hot and walking the stairs of the arcopolis (big building) is one of the best parts! It’s nice there is a cenote on site to cool off if needed. Also take toll road and go earlier to avoid policia we got pulled over by fake looking cops who we ended up giving $500 pesos for not having our passport on hand. Really put a damper on our day.
There is also water/snacks if needed but as always recommend bringing pesos incase internet is down.
Also thought the parking guys were a scam but then they were the only parking people pretty much 500m from the entrance next to a big sign that says parking $100. Felt bad about that :(
