点评:Brancaster bay is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by reed beds and marshes. The beach itself is part of a stretch of sand that stretches all the way from Titchwell to Brancaster Staithe but has the advantage at Brancaster of being easily accessible and with facilities such as toilets and car park and is quite popular due to it being a family and dog friendly (dog friendly once you move away from the section round the golf club)
It also benefits from having a wonderful circular walk through the marshes which is well signed and managed by Norfolk Trails. And you can often see seals on the west section of the beach
The reason I state walk here if you can is that as although the area is managed by the National Trust the large car park very close to the beach and just before the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club is not part of the NT land and is privately owned (presumably by the golf club), and the car parking charges that apply through the pay and display machine are frankly criminal and the owners should be prosecuted for extortion. It will cost you £6 for up to 2 hours or £12 for all day.
We were staying in Brancaster and utilised it for some fantastic evening strolls along the sand. But if you are visiting for the day, I would recommend parking up near The Ship pub (highly recommended also) and taking the 20-minute stroll along the Norfolk trails path to explore the beach.
